Planning a destination wedding? Kristina and Alex’s intimate laid-back destination wedding in Panama at Dreams Playa Bonita Resort will have you adding Panama to your bucket list places right away. I could not be more blown away by how beautiful the entire country is and how severely underrated it is. Prior to chatting with Kristina and Alex, Central America had never been on my list of places to visit but wow was I ever wrong!

When Kristina and Alex began to plan their intimate destination wedding in Panama they knew they wanted to take their guests to a place they could explore and experience with them and they felt Panama was the perfect place for that. With an incredible diversity found across Panama from the thick, lush jungles, the Caribbean blue waters and pristine white sand beaches to the bustling capital city filled with rich history. The Dreams Playa Bonita was the perfect choice for a resort for their guests with everything you could need and the most beautiful cove right below the ceremony space where the tide would go out each afternoon and open up this sandy paradise that felt like you had stepped off the resort and into the middle of the lush, exotic jungle of Panama.

Since this would be my first time ever in Panama, I wanted to make a trip out of it. I got the opportunity to plan a private tour with Travelling Souls and spent an 18 hour day exploring the Anton Valley, a town that sits in the middle of an extinct volcano. If you would love to see more check out my post here on my adventure in El Valle de Anton.

Everything about this intimate destination wedding in Panama was truly so laid back. Kristina and Alex choose to focus more on the experience for themselves along with their two year old daughter, Piper, and their guests instead of tons of extra little details. When you are getting married in such a beautiful location you can do away with a lot of extra little details on the day as the beauty of the natural surroundings often are all you need.

After the beautiful ceremony on the romantic terrace at Dreams Playa Bonita Kristina and Alex went down to that secluded cove below to watch the sunset and spend some quiet time together. One of the biggest things I encourage all of my couples on their wedding day is to be able to step away from your guests for a little while to be able to spend some time just the two of you. Your wedding day goes by so quickly it is so important to be able to have some alone time together. These are some of my favourite moments to document as they are true, authentic moments between the couple.

After the sun had set Kristina and Alex joined their guests for the last bit of cocktail hour and then everyone walked over together to their reception space. Sitting right along the edge of the beach you could listen to the waves crash onto the beach and watch all the ships sitting off in the distance waiting to enter the Panama Canal. Kristina and Alex’s beach reception was filled with so much laughter, tears and awesome dance moves it was the perfect way to end an incredible day.
