Fall Elopement in Quebec

Fall is such a beautiful time in Canada with the colours of the leaves on the trees changing it dramatically changes and one could even argue enhances the beauty of the landscapes. I had never had the chance to spend a fall in Quebec and I was really excited to help Justine and Chris plan their adventurous fall elopement in Quebec! If you want to see another beautiful fall elopement in Quebec check out this other elopement I photographed in the Charlevoix Mountains.

We went through a few different plans before we landed on Quebec due to the nature of COVID ever changing the restrictions of guests, lockdowns and so much more but that wouldn't let Justine and Chris not have a day that was completely about the two of them and their love story! Some of the things that they loved most was their Jeep Wrangler, a good food spread filled with yummy meats and cheeses, great drinks and a stunning landscape and so we definitely made sure to check off all of those boxes.

We found an incredible property that not only checked off all the boxes but had quite a bit of land that took you right to the base of the mountains and followed a beautiful river and gave us everything we needed for an incredible adventurous day without having to leave the property! When we were planning for their elopement we chatted about the chance of weather changing as it often does in the mountains in Quebec and Justine said to me that she would LOVE it if it rained! This is absolute music to my ears as I love when couples embrace any and all weather that comes and it sure did come!

This adventurous fall elopement in Quebec started off very relaxed with Justine doing her hair and makeup (as she is a super talented make up artist herself!) and Chris making coffee and setting up their minimal ceremony set up outside sitting on the cabins pond with the mountains in the background.

Once we began their ceremony the weather was perfect mix of sun and clouds and the day was filled with so much happiness and emotion. As Justine came down the cabin stairs you could see the happiness and emotion in Chris' eyes as a few tears fell and as Justine reached their ceremony site her eyes welled up with tears of seeing her almost husband for the first time. It was absolutely hilarious they even shared a quick kiss at the start of their ceremony and quickly realized they 'weren't supposed to do that' ahah!!

After their heart warming ceremony outside we headed in for the most delicious spread I have ever seen all done by Chris! They picked up a little bit of all their favourite things for a perfect lunch feast (and snacks for later!) This is something I cannot encourage enough of couples is to incorporate all of your favourite things into your elopement day as this is how you make your day truly unique to the two of you and the best day ever! They spent some time calling all their family members sharing the good news and showing them their beautiful outfits.

After a lunch break we headed outside to explore the surrounding land and see what the rest of the property looked like! We could see a storm brewing over the mountains and they we stoked to possibly dance in the rain!

After dancing in the rain and doing their first dance on the dock they headed inside the cabin for the night to change out of their wet wedding clothes and cozy up in their sweats. We all had dinner together and then they headed outside for an evening hot tub and ended the night popping a bottle of bubbly in the hot tub! No better way to end a perfect elopement in Quebec!
