This beautiful Muskoka Elopement at Falcon's Nest Cottage, an Airbnb located on Lake Muskoka in Port Carling, was the perfect late spring wedding. Alyssa and Eric originally had planned to elope in Algonquin Provincial Park and then found out they were expecting a beautiful baby so changed their date and found this perfect Airbnb in Muskoka to host their amazing wedding day.
Falcon's Nest Cottage can accommodate up to 12 guests with 6 bedrooms, 7 beds and 5.5 baths and makes it such a perfect location for an intimate wedding. There is a spacious boathouse that sits only a few steps down from the main house where you can host you ceremony where your guests can either stand or sit on the dock or cozied up in the boathouse depending on the weather & time of year! Alyssa and Eric had perfect weather for their Muskoka Elopement at Falcon's Nest Cottage despite the weather everywhere else outside of Muskoka was a terrible storm that was downing trees, massive power outages and so much more. They truly were so lucky with the perfect weather!
The day started off really relaxed with Alyssa and all the girls getting ready and Eric and all the guys relaxing and hanging out outside. The day was relaxed all the way through which is exactly how a wedding should feel! Once both Alyssa and Eric were dressed they had their first look outside with their entire family looking on from the floor to ceiling windows inside the cottage. From there we explored the property with all the stunning trees, the waterfront and just took their time enjoying being in each others company. The ceremony was held on the dock where both the bride and groom were barefoot, which I absolutely loved! After a short but sweet ceremony everyone relaxed for the rest of the afternoon having cocktails and appetizers and enjoying everything that the Falcon's Nest had to offer.
Alyssa and Eric had coordinate with a private chef to cater their dinner and boy did the meal not disappoint! They had a delicious 3 course meal that was filled with laughter, love and so many great stories and speeches. I snuck Alyssa and Eric away for some a few minutes to catch sunset down on the lake, but also let them relax and just soak in being married! After watching the sunset the couple headed back to dinner to wrap up desert and then everyone changed into their cozy clothes and headed down for a late night bonfire.
One of my favourite things about having a intimate wedding where you are surrounded by your closest family members is there are no rules and you just get to truly soak in the day with your favourite people surrounding you. Alyssa and Eric planned everything around who they were as a couple and created a day filled with intention and slow timeline so they could enjoy every second of their day with their families.
