2020 has been a year of a lot of plans changed and that would be the case for Veronica and Jake. They were originally supposed to get married in June and had to shift their larger day to September due to COVID-19, but that was not going to stop them from getting legally married! They decided there would be no better place to get married than the place they got engaged – on the dock of Jake’s family cottage! I think this is the most perfect place to start the next chapter of their lives than saying I do for their Muskoka wedding on the dock under the warm summer sun.
This beautiful intimate cottage wedding in Muskoka is a perfect example of taking a tough situation and making the absolute best of it. Veronica said to me “Our wedding day is not how we originally envisioned it so we want to be able to remember the day and the intimate setting of the cottage surrounded by our family.” Being able to marry the love of your life after waiting ten years for Veronica and Jake was what mattered most. For everyone that has had to postpone their special day I know your time will come and when it does your guests will be so joyous to celebrate you. Veronica and Jake truly could not have looked happier during their beautiful dockside Muskoka wedding surrounded by their families.
Choosing to elope (which can have guests!) in 2020 so you can marry the love of your life is one of the incredible options many of my couples have chosen to do so they can start their next chapter of their lives and not have to wait potentially another full year or longer. Many are choosing to do an intimate elopement ceremony and then use their original venue for a reception when it is safe to do so with all their guests. I think this is such a great idea and an awesome way to celebrate twice!
