Tobermory Elopement

How To Plan a Tobermory Elopement | Bruce Peninsula Elopement Photographer

One of the most iconic places to visit in Ontario is the turquoise waters of Tobrmory, Bruce Peninsula. This spit of land is where Georgian Bay and Lake Huron meet and is one of the prettiest spots in southern Ontario. Tobermory and the Bruce Peninsula offers so much in terms of adventure for an elopement and that is exactly what Tanya and Abe were looking for! The Bruce Peninsula is one of their favourite spots to explore during the spring and early summer when all the wildflowers are blooming and the tourists are not as frequent to the park. We planned a full day filled with adventure and equal amounts family time for them to have the perfect Tobermory Elopement.

Some of my favourite places to explore for a Tobermory Elopement are the following:

Bruce Peninsula National Park

  • The Grotto
  • Flowerpot Island
  • Fathom Five National Marine Park
  • Indian Head Cove
  • Halfway Log Dump
  • Singing Sands Beach

Other Spots Near Tobermory:

  • Little Cove Provincial Park
  • Lions Head Provincial Park
  • Greig's Caves
  • Spirit Rock Conservation Area

Planning a Tobermory Elopement:

When you are planning an elopement in the Tobermory area things to keep in mind are summer and early fall it turns into a very busy place for tourists which often doesn't make popular hot spots great options for an elopement in the Bruce Peninsula. Things we consider was starting out first thing in the morning to catch the sun rises on a hike which is often the best time anywhere to beat the crowds. We also choose a not as popular hike compared to the Grotto knowing we would see less people when we arrive which is exactly what happened!

For Tanya + Abe's private vows they choose a spot perched on a rock along the turquoise shores of Georgian Bay as the fog lifted on the surrounding rock faces and then spent the morning making coffee and baileys and relaxing on the rocky shores. For the afternoon we hiked back and then all of their family members met us at the town docks and hopped aboard a private tour boat with Tobermory Waves to take everyone on two boats for a ceremony off one of the islands of Fathom Five National Marine Park. This is another great way to ensure there is no one else around in a fairly popular spot to have a private and intimate ceremony in Tobermory.
