Winter Elopement at the Buffalo Farm

There is something incredible unique and intimate about an elopement. It is just the two of you or a small group of your very closest family and friends. Eloping often offers a wider variety of places you can choose to say you vows to one another beyond your traditional wedding venues. For some it can be at a family cottage, on a beach, or in this case at the Buffalo Farm located just outside of the town of Mattawa in Northern Ontario. Sarah and Mike got to be able to put back on their wedding attire for this Buffalo Farm Winter Elopement Editorial at Evelyn Barkey's Algonquin North Workshop.

Although this was an editorial piece I wanted to talk about why I think elopements are so unique and love that more and more people are thinking about going this route. So many people do not love the idea of a big wedding and just want to say their I do's with just the two of them or surrounded only by their very closest family and friends. If planning a big wedding is incredibly daunting or just never been your dream then maybe consider eloping!

So many of my couples after their wedding day has come and gone have said to me the whole wedding planning process was both very stressful and filled with planning a wedding for others and not themselves. There is a trend going on in the last few years of going the minimalistic route, keeping things stress free and for some that is eloping. For some it is about getting married in a place that is so incredibly special to the couple and having a large wedding in these places cannot be accommodated. Whether that is on the top of a mountain or maybe the dock at the cottage these places have true meaning to you as a couple. When you elope you truly can keep the wedding your own.

This Buffalo Farm winter elopement editorial is the perfect representation of being able to do things very minimalistic and in a unique location. This elopement was styled to use only what was already at the Buffalo Farm and nothing else. The Buffalo Farm is a farm located on 600 acres sitting on the northern edge of Algonquin Park in Northern Ontario. The striking beauty of the farm with a yurt sitting on the edge of the buffalos pasture is the perfect place to say I do. The yurt offers an incredibly cozy place to not only get beautiful photos but stay the night after your elopement.

If eloping is something that you feel is for you give me a shout I would love to help you plan your dream elopement and make sure it is everything you could have ever imagined and so much more. I am the biggest believer in doing things your way and making sure it captures who the two of you are as a couple!
